Terms of Service

These Terms are provided on a template-plus-review basis and are pending a one-time legal-sufficiency review before they are treated as authoritative.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RentsPaid web and mobile applications and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
RentsPaid is a property-management platform for small landlords participating in the HUD Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. It supports HAP payment tracking, NSPIRE inspection preparation, and Section 8 compliance management. The Service provides organizational and informational tooling only and does not constitute legal, tax, or housing-compliance advice.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are intended for landlords and tenants participating in or evaluating the Section 8 program.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting unauthorized access, uploading unlawful content, infringing others’ rights, or using the Service to violate housing, privacy, or anti-discrimination law. You are responsible for the lawfulness of the data you upload, including tax documents and inspection photographs.
5. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information, including HUD-regulated Section 8 program data.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RentsPaid is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or as required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
